Club W Winemaker Partner // All-Organic Advocate
Chris is a California native, but he’s only three generations away from Greece. His grandfathers made wine, his father sold wine, and Chris does both! After studying Plant Ecology at SF State and Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis, Chris began his career at Pine Ridge Winery in 1995. Just two years later, he started his own vineyard to focus on alternative varietals and hand-crafted wines using advanced organics — practices that are still considered progressive even by today’s standards. In 1998, Chris became the consulting winemaker for Kathryn Kennedy Winery (he still is), and 1o years later he launched Horse & Plow with his wife Suzanne in order to focus exclusively on using certified organic and biodynamic fruit.
