Santa Barbara County isn’t only an incredible winemaking region, but a Central Coast hotspot meant to be explored by locals and travelers alike. When Winc’s Director of Winemaking, Ryan Zotovich, isn’t hard at work in the vineyard or bottling facilities, he can be found enjoying the area’s many offerings and its unique charm.
Ryan recommends that you begin your weekend in SBC proper, going wine tasting in SBC’s Funk Zone and visiting the Saturday Fishermen's Market. If you get the chance, say hi to Stephanie Mutz - she’s the only female urchin diver in California. On Sunday, head just 45 minutes north of Santa Barbara and stop for brunch at Cold Springs Tavern which began as a stagecoach shop in the 1800s. For lunch, the butcher counter at Industrial Eats in Buellton is a must. End your trip with a a stay at Ballard Inn Bed & Breakfast.
If you aren’t sure when you can sneak away on your next weekend trip, enjoy one of our favorite wines from the area to tide you over.
